Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Property Controller will:Possess experience and knowledge in hospitality accounting practicesBe able to manage remotely the Financial and Accounting tasks for a portfolio of hotels Finalize & deliver hotel financials in collaboration with 3rd party accounting services, Operations and Human Resources teamsEnsure valid and effective P&L reviews with the goal of maximizing financial results, timeliness and accuracyWork with hotel, regional, and corporate teams to generate accurate and functional forecasts, cash flows, and budgetsEnsure timeliness and accuracy of DRR and research any discrepancies as they ariseEnsure accuracy of coding for all income statement and balance sheet items with the proper back up. Review all monthly hotel tax filings for accuracy and ensure timeliness of payments.Analyze and research discrepancies in financials with the goal of resolving issues and putting proactive process improvements in place to increase accuracy and efficiency in the futureEnsure clean and accurate AP processing for hotel vendorsEnsure clean and accurate Bank Reconciliations for their hotelsEnsure timely and accurate payment, tracking, and pro-active forecasting, and budgeting for all Property Insurance, key AP vendors, Franchise Fees, Mortgage and Interest, Utilities and Taxes. Assist the Director of Accounting in ensuring the team meets Key Performance IndicatorsWill perform any and all reasonable duties within the scope of the Finance or Accounting departmentQualifications B.A. (or higher) in Accounting or Finance2+ years experience in hospitality industry Accounting in a Centralized environmentExperience driving process development that impacts resultsSolution-oriented mindsetYou will succeed in this role by:Reducing team time spent and increasing accuracy on key processes such as hotel transitions and treasury managementEnsuring process compliance in and outside the Finance teamEnsuring that hotel financials are delivered on timeEnsuring that hotel transitions requirements are systematic and executed timely and accurately Increasing controller knowledge of accounting practicesIncreasing owner and Operations team satisfaction in their interactions with our Finance teamWho we arePalette Hotels is a modern and fully integrated hotel management company.
