Clinical Behavioral Specialist

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clincal Behavioral Specialist to join our team. The Clinical Behavioral Specialist is a highly skilled mental health professional responsible for providing therapeutic support to foster care youth who have experienced severe trauma. This individual will utilize evidence-based trauma-informed therapy techniques to address the complex emotional and behavioral challenges of these children, helping them develop coping mechanisms and resilience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral health and experience working with individuals with autism and other behavioral challenges. This role involves developing and implementing behavior management plans, providing support to patients, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care. Responsibilities Conduct assessments to identify behavioral issues and develop individualized treatment plans. Implement applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques to promote positive behavior changes. Provide direct support to individuals with autism and other behavioral health needs. Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Participate in training sessions for staff on behavior management strategies. Offer guidance on addiction counseling when relevant to patient care. Advocate for patients' needs within the healthcare system. Experience Bachelor degree in psychology, social work, special education, or related field is required. Master degree in psychology, social work, special education, or a related field is preferred. Experience working in behavioral health settings or with special populations is highly desirable. Familiarity with behavior management techniques and applied behavior analysis is essential. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical record keeping practices is required. Previous experience in patient care or direct support roles is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment are necessary.
