UCT is looking for a talented Production Lead - Electromechanical Assembly to join us in Chandler, AZ! The Production Lead supports the Integration (electromechanical assembly) team responsible for building complex systems, sub-assemblies, and tool platforms for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This work includes mechanical assembly, cable routing, harnessing, electrical component installation, and system-level integration. This position plays a key role in coordinating production workflow, ensuring quality standards, mentoring technicians, and supporting the Production Supervisor in achieving daily manufacturing goals. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSafety & ComplianceFollows all safety policies and ensures team adherence to PPE, ESD, and cleanroom protocolsPromotes a strong safety culture and escalates risks or hazards immediatelyProduction LeadershipLeads daily production activities within the electromechanical assembly/integration areaAssigns work, monitors workflow, and ensures builds are completed to scheduleSupports shift startup meetings, priorities, and communication of production goalsTechnical ExecutionSupports hands-on assembly as needed, including:Mechanical assembly of frames, modules, and sub-assembliesCable routing, harness installation, and wire managementElectrical component installation and system hookupsEnsures work is performed to blueprints, schematics, work instructions, and BOMsVerifies proper integration of mechanical and electrical systemsQuality & Continuous ImprovementEnsures all assemblies meet quality standards and specificationsPerforms in-process inspections and supports troubleshooting of assembly issuesIdentifies root causes of defects and implements corrective actionsDrives continuous improvement (Lean, 5S, Kaizen) initiativesTraining & Team DevelopmentTrains and mentors Assembly Technicians (Levels I-III) on build processes and best practicesAssesses skill levels and supports cross-training across integration tasksReinforces proper interpretation of drawings, schematics, and work instructionsPerformance & MetricsTracks production output, quality metrics, and efficiency (KPIs)Supports the Production Supervisor in meeting daily/weekly goalsAssists in developing and executing improvement plansCommunication & CoordinationServes as a primary point of contact between technicians and supervisionParticipates in shift handoffs, team meetings, and problem-solving discussionsDocuments safety, quality, personnel, and equipment issuesGeneral SupportParticipates in housekeeping, organization, and 5S initiativesPerforms other duties as assigned Preferred Qualifications / SkillsStrong background in electromechanical assembly and system integrationExperience with:Cable routing, harness assembly, and installationReading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawingsSub-assembly and full system buildsFamiliarity with semiconductor equipment or similar high-tech manufacturingExperience troubleshooting assembly or integration issuesLean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or continuous improvement experience preferredBasic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, production systems) Educational / Certification RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredTechnical certification or associate degree in electronics, manufacturing, or related field preferredPrior team lead or informal leadership experience strongly preferred Experience Requirements3+ years of experience in electromechanical assembly, system integration, or advanced manufacturingPrior leadership, lead, or mentoring experience preferredExperience in cleanroom or high-tech equipment manufacturing is a plus Physical Demands and Working Conditions Work Environment:Manufacturing and/or cleanroom environmentExposure to mechanical systems, electrical components, and production equipment Physical Demands:Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 30-35 pounds (with assistance as needed)Use of hands and tools for fine assembly work Environmental Exposure:Required use of PPE (ESD gear, safety equipment, cleanroom gowning as required)Exposure to moderate noise, moving mechanical parts, and electrical components Other Duties This job description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all duties, responsibilities, or activities.
