Construction Inspector

Job Title: Construction Inspector Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Inspector to oversee ongoing construction activities and ensure compliance with approved construction documents, codes, and industry standards. The role involves site inspections, coordination with project teams, and ensuring quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Conduct regular inspections of construction work to ensure compliance with: Approved construction drawings and specifications Applicable building codes and standards of workmanship Review and coordinatespecial inspections , including : Elevators, Window system, Structural steel, Concrete and masonry Monitor and verifyquality assurance / quality control (QA/QC)processes as required by contract Review permit documents, certifications, and qualifications of special inspectors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements Ensure allSpecial Inspectionsare completed in accordance with approved permit documents and applicable codes Coordinate with third-party inspection agencies and verify their credentials Observe testing and certification of building systems, including: Fire protection systems and Fire alarm systems Life safety systems (e.g., fire pumps, alarms) Maintain accuraterecord-keeping documentationon-site (Project Binder) Attend construction meetings and provide inspection updates Conduct periodic site visits and prepare detailed reports with photographs Identify construction issues, track progress, and escalate concerns when necessary Assist with interpretation of codes and specifications during construction Coordinate with Code Compliance Managers and relevant stakeholders for issue resolution Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field Proven experience in construction inspection or site supervision Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and inspection procedures Experience with QA/QC processes and documentation Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Key Skills: Attention to detail Strong reporting and documentation skills Knowledge of safety and compliance standards Excellent communication and coordination abilities Problem-solving mindset
