About Bridge to Promise
Bridge to Promise is a nonprofit organization focused on empowering underserved, at-risk minority youth aged 14-35 by providing them with the skills, confidence, and leadership development needed to succeed. We are expanding into Georgia, and we’re seeking committed volunteers to join our working Board of Directors. This is a hands-on role where board members actively contribute to both the governance and day-to-day efforts of the organization.

Role Summary:
As a member of the working board, you’ll not only provide governance and strategic oversight but also contribute directly to the organization’s daily operations, fundraising efforts, and program development. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact as we grow our presence in Georgia and further develop programs that transform young lives.
Responsibilities:
Attend and actively participate in board meetings (quarterly or as scheduled).
Actively engage in strategic planning, decision-making, and organizational development.
Provide hands-on support in fundraising, program development, and community outreach.
Assist with the operational needs of the organization, including event planning, volunteer coordination, and partnerships.
Lead or contribute to board committees (e.g., fundraising, program development, finance).
Serve as an ambassador for Bridge to Promise and advocate for our mission in the community.
Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards, including nonprofit governance regulations.
Specific Board Roles Available:
Treasurer: Oversees financial affairs, ensures accurate financial reporting, and supports fundraising strategies.
Secretary: Manages board documentation, ensures compliance, and handles board communications.
Fundraising/Development Chair: Leads the board’s efforts in fundraising, donor engagement, and event planning. Works directly with the team to develop and execute fundraising strategies.
Program Chair: Provides oversight and hands-on guidance for program development and implementation.
Qualifications:
A passion for youth development and nonprofit work.
Previous board experience or expertise in areas such as fundraising, finance, legal, marketing, or program development (preferred but not required).
Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
Willingness to dedicate time to both board meetings and hands-on activities to support the organization’s needs.
Give/Get Policy:
Board members are expected to support Bridge to Promise through a minimum give/get commitment of $1,500 to $2,000 annually, either through personal contributions or by securing donations. This helps ensure the board remains fully engaged and invested in the success of the organization.
Time Commitment:
Attend quarterly board meetings (typically 1-2 hours each) and participate in additional meetings and working sessions as needed.
Actively participate in fundraising events, volunteer efforts, and strategic initiatives.
Serve a 2- or 3-year term, renewable based on board approval.
