DEPARTMENT: Men’s 19th Supervisor Food & Beverage
REPORTS TO: Food & Beverage Service Manager
PURPOSE: Dining Room Captains are responsible for positive member / guest interactions
while serving in a friendly and efficient manner.
INDICATORS OF SUCCESS: Member satisfaction and Recognition
SAFETY SENSITIVE: Handles Food.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Opening the restaurant, holding team members accountable, tee-sheet evaluations, dining room readiness, closing the restaurant, ensure that the service staff have completed all their closing duties, posting of daily transactions, posting closing report, ensuring restaurant is safe and secure before leaving.
Ensure thorough communication with Food and Beverage Service Manager/Supervisor before, during and after all shifts.
Practice three steps of service, warm welcome, friendly compliance and fond farewell.
Know and understanding all food menu items as well as wines by the glass.
Presenting menus, suggesting dishes, assisting in drink selection, communicating specific customer needs (i.e. allergies and special modifiers) to the kitchen.
Make recommendations you genuinely feel your members will enjoy.
Up-sell food and beverage items using suggestive selling techniques.
Maintain a high level dining experience at all times while keeping in mind we are family serving family
Answer questions about our food, beverage and other restaurant/club events.
Perform and hold team members accountable for opening/closing side work continually throughout the day.
Maintain clean service areas.
Continuation of training and development of food and beverage knowledge
Prepare final bill, present to member ensuring signature.
Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
Assist supervisors and managers in the training and development of the staff.
Inspecting what you expect, i.e. side work, steps of service.
Must be approachable.
Must be a hands on leader.
Assist with monthly inventories when deemed necessary.
Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
Other duties as assigned by Management.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS OR EQUIVALENT:
High school diploma or equivalent
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
TABC Certification and Food Handler Certification
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Minimum two years’ experience in country club and golf tournaments.
UNUSUAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to work days/nights, weekends and holidays. The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is routinely required to stand for long hours of time. Employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining service expectation.
