Electrical Controls Designer / Design EngineerJob Type: W2 ContractContract Duration: 12 Months, possible extensionLocation: Alpharetta, GA 30005Work Setting: OnsitePay Rate: $38.00 - $40.50/hrJob SummaryThe Electrical Controls Designer is responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining electrical control system schematics and hardware designs for project-based applications. This role supports the development of electrical control systems through schematic design, CAD drawing creation, BOM development, and collaboration with engineering teams. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, eager to learn, and capable of interpreting electrical schematics, relay logic, and PLC I/O systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop electrical control system schematics and hardware layouts.Create, modify, and maintain electrical CAD drawings using AutoCAD Electrical or similar Smart CAD software.Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).Read, interpret, and revise electrical schematics, relay logic diagrams, and PLC input/output documentation.Support project teams in coordinating design activities and meeting project requirements.Review engineering requirements and assist with estimating project timelines and efforts.Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues as needed.Ensure designs comply with engineering standards and project specifications.Collaborate with local and global engineering teams on project execution.Required QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred.Associate degree with 6+ years of relevant experience will be considered.Master's degree in a relevant field may be considered in lieu of experience.Experience2–4 years of relevant electrical controls design experience.Internship experience alone does not qualify.Required SkillsTop 3 SkillsElectrical controls design experience, including schematic and hardware design.Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, relay logic, and PLC inputs/outputs.Self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn.Technical SkillsAutoCAD Electrical or other Smart CAD software.Electrical schematic design and documentation.Electrical hardware controls experience.Creation and management of BOMs.Understanding of PLCs and industrial control systems.Ability to interpret and modify electrical drawings.Troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.Soft SkillsStrong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and manage priorities.Collaborative team player.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.#INDOEM
