Optimization Engineer
Responsibilities:Position supports the day-to-day production activities to ensure the safety, quality, and efficiency of the manufacturing process.Support the site’s Production Engineer roleDesign, modify, and develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment or processes used in Company’s processingUtilizes OSI PI software to provide advanced troubleshooting for plant problemsProvide justification for improvements through data analysis and Six Sigma methodologiesResponsible for KPI’s that determines overall plant well-beingUtilize technical information concerning manufacturing, processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages to create long-term improvements in the plantsComplete small capital project scopesLead / Participate in Unit HAZOPS and follow-up action items as required to mitigate risks in the unit from the PHAProvide advanced troubleshooting support to operations personnel Work with UnitSupervisor and engineers to effectively troubleshoot plant-wide issuesReview and discuss safety incident occurrencesProvide technical support for safety resolutions as needed in areas that include technical design, what if, PSSR, MOC, SOP, etc.Assist in the development of safety training MOC and unit specific itemsLead investigations for accident/incident occurrencesQualifications:Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Chemical Engineering from a four-year college or university highly preferred, will consider all Engineering disciplines4 – 7 years of plant or manufacturing engineering experience3+ years of production engineering experience preferredTWIC Card, abilityApply of logical solutions to define problems, collect data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusionsIdentify and execute process improvement initiativesTrack and optimize site asset utilization, production performance, and variable manufacturing costsPerform engineering analysis to reduce waste and down timeSupport plant HSE initiativesIncorporate good process safety practices
