Chief Financial Officer Opportunity At ViaQuestViaQuest is a leading provider of behavioral health services, delivering clinical care through a network of over 800 clinicians across hundreds of locations. The company partners with skilled nursing facilities to provide on-site behavioral health services, billing Medicare and Medicaid directly on behalf of the clinicians it places.The behavioral health division is a high-growth, high-margin business with revenue of approximately $100 million and a strong track record of expansion. The company recently entered new state markets and continues to see significant demand for its services driven by favorable reimbursement trends and an aging population.ViaQuest is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead the finance organization for its behavioral health division. This is a build-and-lead role. The company is investing in a new finance infrastructure, and the CFO will have the mandate and authority to construct the team, systems, and processes needed to support a $100 million and growing healthcare services platform.This is not a maintenance role. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in environments that require hands-on leadership, operational rigor, and the ability to bring structure and clarity to a growing business. The CFO will work closely with the CEO, the private equity sponsor, and operational leadership to drive financial performance, enable strategic transactions, and position the company for long-term value creation.Key ResponsibilitiesFinance Organization & InfrastructureBuild, lead, and develop the finance team across accounting, FP&A, and revenue cycle managementEstablish robust controls, financial policies, and reporting processesDrive disciplined monthly close; deliver accurate, timely GAAP financialsAssess and restructure the team to meet business demandsStrategic Financial LeadershipServe as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive teamDeliver data-driven insights for decision-making and growth planningSupport evaluation of new market expansion and growth initiativesCreate actionable dashboards and performance metrics for operational leadersCapital Structure & GovernanceManage lender relationships, covenant compliance, and financial reportingEnsure audit readiness and regulatory complianceOversee timely and accurate financials for internal/external stakeholdersOperational PartnershipCollaborate with operations to connect financials to clinical and service outcomesDrive margin improvement, transparency, and operational efficiencyProvide financial education, accountability tools, and performance analysis to operational leadersTransaction Readiness & Value CreationPrepare the finance function for capital events (recapitalizations, strategic transactions)Lead due diligence, financial modeling, and data room readinessEnsure business readiness for scrutiny by lenders, buyers, and auditorsCandidate ProfileExperience10+ years of progressive financial leadership in healthcare services or complex multi-site organizationsPrior CFO title required at a healthcare services or multi-site organization with P&L ownership over $75M+Proven experience building or rebuilding finance functions (team restructuring, controls, processes)Track record in turnaround environments; experience structuring organizations in transitionExperience in private equity/institutional settings, including lender management and board reportingStrong technical accounting; CPA strongly preferredFamiliarity with Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, revenue cycle, and multi-state healthcare opsLeadership & CompetenciesBuilder mentality: energized by creating from scratchOperator mindset: balance strategic vision and hands-on executionDirect communicator who simplifies complexityResilient under pressure; makes tough decisions with imperfect infoCollaborative while maintaining financial disciplineHigh integrity, honesty, and strength to deliver tough messagesLocation & TravelPreferred: Columbus, Ohio (flexibility within Ohio for exceptional candidates)Significant onsite presence expected in the first 36 monthsLong-term: ~50% presence in ColumbusCompensationCompetitive executive compensation: base salary, annual bonus (2550% of base), and long-term incentive tied to value creationPackage will be calibrated to attract the right leaderHow to ApplyInterested candidates should submit a resumeAll inquiries will be treated confidentiallyCouncil Capital and our portfolio companies are committed to building high-performing teams by hiring the best talentperiod.
