SummaryThe Stage Check Airman position is responsible for evaluating students in accordance with training course outlines, FAA Airman Certification Standards and Practical Test Standards, and general operations procedures.Essential FunctionsEnsuring operational safety and conformance to company, local, and FAA regulations and policiesConducting Part 141 stage checks for approved courses in accordance with the current approved training course outline (TCO)Provide detailed debriefings to instructors, team leaders, managers or other employeesProvide guidance to instructors regarding improvements to students' trainingMaintain the quality (pass rate) of flight training at or above 80% through consistent and comprehensiveSee that each assigned student is re-scheduled if a training delay occursMaintain accurate Talon records regarding evaluationsConduct student training record auditsEnsure that the policies and procedures of the General Operations Manual are maintainedAssists the Manager of Flight Standards in developing training standards for training proceduresAssists the Manager of Flight Standards in the continuous development and improvement of the pilotSubmits required reports as directedWorks with the Manager of Flight Standards concerning issues related to pilot job performance issuesAdditional duties as assigned by the Manager of Flight StandardsKnowledge and SkillsDemonstrates good judgment and confidentialityExceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong emphasis on customer serviceExcellent time management, follow-through and organizational skillsStrong communication and ability to build relationships with all levels of management
