Position Title: Electrical Design TechnicianLocation: Oak Ridge, TNSchedule: Monday–Thursday | 4 days/week | 10‑hour shiftsDuration: 12‑month contract with annual renewals (up to 5 years, funded)Compensation: $33-$43/HourJob Overview:Insight Global is seeking an Electrical Design Technician / Electrical Designer to support a top government and energy client in a highly regulated environment. This individual will support the Managed Design Engineering Field Design Support group by producing high‑quality, code‑compliant electrical design deliverables that directly enable construction and operational activities. The ideal candidate brings strong Bentley MicroStation experience, a solid understanding of power distribution and industrial control systems, and thrives in an onsite, collaborative setting supporting mission‑critical infrastructure.Day-to-Day:Develop and revise electrical design deliverables using Bentley MicroStationProduce one‑line diagrams, wiring diagrams, lighting and power plansCreate installation and construction detailsDevelop Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) diagramsPrepare conduit and cable schedulesProduce fire alarm and communications drawingsSupport preparation of datasheets, specifications, and field walkdown reportsCollaborate with electrical engineers and CAD designers to ensure constructabilityRespond to design‑related questions from construction and operations teamsParticipate in onsite field walkdowns as requiredRequired Skills & Experience:Onsite position requiring 4 days per week with 10-hour shiftsMust be eligible to obtain Q Clearance6–10 years of relevant experienceAssociate’s degree or higherStrong proficiency with Bentley MicroStationHands-on experience with low- and medium-voltage power distribution systemsExperience working with industrial control systemsWorking knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 79, and UL 508AAbility to support construction and operational activities tied to engineering design outputsAbility to perform occasional field walkdowns, including work in radiologically contaminated environments when required
