Network Engineer / Site Technician (Contract Short Term) Location: Northlake, TX (On-site) Type: Contract / Short-Term Project (Weekend work possible) We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer / Site Technician for a short-term, on-site project in Northlake, Texas. This role involves wireless network assessment, deployment, and optimization for a client environment. Key Responsibilities:Conduct a wireless heat map survey to assess current coverage and performanceInstall and configure approximately 15 indoor Aruba / Cisco access pointsAssist with installation and basic configuration of network switchesPerform post-installation heat mapping to identify coverage gaps and dead zonesTroubleshoot connectivity and signal issues to optimize network performanceProvide recommendations for optimal AP models and placement based on site conditionsRequired Skills & Experience:Proven experience with wireless site surveys and heat mapping tools (e.g., Ekahau, NetSpot, or similar)Hands-on experience installing and configuring Aruba and/or Cisco wireless access pointsStrong understanding of RF principles, signal propagation, and interference mitigationExperience with layer 2/3 networking and switch configurationAbility to work independently on-site and complete project deliverables efficientlyNice to Have:Ability to recommend hardware (AP models, placement strategy) based on survey findingsExperience working in similar short-term deployment or field technician rolesAdditional Details:Short-term engagement with potential for future projectsFlexible scheduling; weekend availability is a plusMust be able to travel to and work on-site in Northlake, TX #LI-1269610_CJ1 #LI-BS1 #LI-IA1 #LI-BP1 #LI-NB1 #LI-AP1 #LI-DM1 #LI-PT1 #LI-NT1 #LI-SG1 #LI-RB1
