Sterile Processing TechnicianJoin our team as a Sterile Processing Technician, where you will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare delivery by ensuring the proper sterilization and processing of medical instruments and equipment. This position offers a stable, long-term opportunity serving our nation's veterans.Responsibilities and DutiesPerform decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments, medical devices, and equipment following strict infection control protocols and manufacturer guidelines.Operate and maintain various sterilization equipment including steam sterilizers, washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, and automated endoscope reprocessors.Assemble and package instrument sets, prepare case carts for surgical procedures, and maintain proper documentation of all processes.Conduct quality assurance testing, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards, VA directives, and facility policies.Manage inventory of sterile supplies, coordinate with OR and other departments, and maintain organized storage areas.Transport, track, and distribute sterilized equipment throughout the medical facility while maintaining sterile technique and safety standards.Required Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent plus one of the following:Two years of relevant post-secondary education at an accredited institution orA combination of relevant post-secondary education and work experience totaling two years.Minimum 2 years of recent sterile processing experienceStrong knowledge of sterilization techniques and aseptic principlesPhysical ability to stand/walk full shift and lift up to 50 pounds.Excellent attention to detail and documentation skillsStrong English communication skills (verbal and written)Background check required.Must meet health screening requirements.
