Our adaptive management approach helps clients efficiently and effectively deliver their projects while maintaining value and reliability.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role based in Baton Rouge, LA, for a Senior Technician. The Technician will assist in conducting construction inspection, CMT testing, develop CMT procedures and help with obtaining/maintaining lab accreditation (AASHTO/R18), geotechnical investigations, perform field sampling and testing, operate monitoring equipment, and prepare field reports. Additional responsibilities include data collection ensuring accurate measurements, collaborating with the engineering team, and maintaining safety standards while working on-site. The role requires travel to project sites, working in varied outdoor environments and working through weekends as-needed for extended period.Qualifications· Perform and oversee field testing (soil compaction, concrete, asphalt).· Conduct soil classification and advanced laboratory testing.· Lead construction inspection and ensure compliance with ASTM/AASHTO standards.· Operate and troubleshoot geotechnical instrumentation.· Prepare and review field reports and test documentation.· Train and mentor junior staff.· Coordinate with engineers and project managers.· Assist in maintaining lab accreditation (AASHTO R18).· Ensure adherence to safety and QA/QC procedures.· Proficiency in geotechnical field sampling and testing, data collection, and monitoring techniques.· Experience in operating and maintaining field and lab equipment, such as geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring systems.· Strong understanding of technical documentation, report preparation, and data management.· Ability to work independently and collaboratively with engineering teams, with a focus on safety practices in outdoor environments.· Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.· Familiarity with geotechnical projects such as coastal restoration, roadway construction, or industrial site development is an advantage.· Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed.· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is a plus.· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.· 3–8+ years of CMT or geotechnical field experience.· Ability to perform physical fieldwork and lift 50+ lbs safely.Preferred Certifications· ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I· NICET Certification (Soils, Concrete, Asphalt)· Nuclear Density Gauge Certification· Experience with ASTM and AASHTO proceduresKey Skills· Leadership and team supervision· Strong attention to detail· Problem-solving in field conditions· Effective communication and reporting· Commitment to safety and quality
