Engineer 3 (Regulatory & Economic Resources)

Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering and five years of engineering experience in the design and/or review of construction plans or environmental control systems to include experience in a comprehensive environmental regulatory program are required. A State of Florida Professional Engineer license or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology awarded or having been enrolled prior to July 1, 1979 and proof of having passed the fundamentals test for the State of Florida Professional Engineer license may substitute for the required education.Recruitment NotesThis is a supervisory professional engineering position in the regulatory review of engineering plans in the areas of paving and drainage, storage tanks, industrial pretreatment, air emissions control, asbestos, floodplain management, grease interceptors, coastal resources, trees, wetlands, and water extensions.Incumbents in this position also review building plans for compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations. This role is essential to maintaining service levels in accordance with Ordinance 99-140, providing direct assistance and interaction with building permit applicants, contractors, and consultants to facilitate the development approval process, and coordinating with other departments and sections to better assist applicants.
