If you are a motivated, detail-oriented individual with a strong background in food quality control, we invite you to apply and contribute to the ongoing success of Folkland Foods.Job Overview:The Quality / Food Safety Supervisor will support the quality control technician(s), implement quality systems, and collaborate with production teams to maintain the highest standards of quality throughout the production process.Key Responsibilities:Quality Assurance Monitoring: Ensure that all products meet the required specifications and standards at each stage of production, from raw materials to finished goods. Monitor and enforce compliance with internal and external quality standards (e.g., FDA, HACCP, SQF, GMP).Process Improvement: Identify areas for quality improvement and collaborate with production and operations teams to implement corrective actions. Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.Sampling and Testing: Oversee regular product sampling, testing, and inspection to ensure compliance with quality standards. Conduct and review physical, chemical, and microbiological tests as necessary.Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of quality control inspections, test results, and corrective actions. Prepare reports on quality metrics for management review.Training and Development: Provide ongoing training for quality control staff on quality procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous learning within the team.Auditing and Compliance: Conduct internal quality audits and assist with external audits from regulatory bodies and certification organizations. Ensure all necessary documentation and compliance procedures are in place.Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and identify the root causes of quality issues, ensuring that corrective actions are taken and that the same issues do not recur in future production runs.Food Safety and Sanitation: Responsible to help lead food safety and sanitation, ensuring proper execution and compliance with food safety regulations. Qualifications:Education: Previous Quality Tech Experience, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., HACCP, SQF, ISO) are a plus.Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within the food manufacturing industry.Knowledge: Strong understanding of food safety regulations (FDA, USDA), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and other relevant quality standards. Experience with microbiological, chemical, and physical testing methods preferred.Skills: Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.Technology: Proficiency with quality control software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
