Fit Development Manager (Contract)Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Fit Development Manager to lead and execute seasonal style and fit development initiatives. This role partners cross-functionally with Design, Product Development, and global teams to ensure best-in-class fit, quality, and execution across multiple product categories.This is a 3-month hybrid contract based in San Francisco, CA, with an expectation to be onsite 4 days per week (Monday–Thursday).Pay rate: $50/hourKey ResponsibilitiesLead seasonal style and fit development based on design direction, using fit intelligence and competitive research to create new fits and enhance existing onesApply expertise in fabric, construction, fit, and sourcing capabilities to develop fit blocks aligned with product standards, timelines, and cost targetsPartner with Fit and Garment Developers to ensure proper application of approved fit blocks throughout seasonal developmentConduct competitive fit analysis, define body measurement targets, and evaluate fit samples to support final approvalsCollaborate with Design to translate aesthetic vision into commercially viable, production-ready productsLead and participate in fit sessions, documenting and communicating clear fit and construction feedback to production teamsEnsure alignment to all Go-To-Market timelines and milestones across internal and external stakeholdersAct as a liaison between Design, Product Development, and vendors to support quality execution and resolve bulk production issuesStay informed on vendor technical capabilities and equipment advancementsQualificationsBachelor’s degree required (or equivalent combination of education, pattern-making training, and experience); design degree preferredMinimum 5 years of experience in apparel fit developmentExperience with manual and/or computer-aided patternmaking and gradingProficiency in Illustrator and Gerber AccuMarkWorking knowledge of Word, Excel, PLM systems, and 3D fit development tools (preferred)Strong background in women’s fit development across woven categories including denim and non-denim bottoms (jeans, shorts, skirts, overalls), trucker jackets, and ideally dresses and topsProven ability to interpret design intent and provide direction on pattern correctionsExperience preparing for and leading fit sessions, updating patterns, and maintaining specificationsStrong collaboration skills with overseas teams to troubleshoot and resolve fit issuesSolid understanding of product development calendars and timelinesEqual Opportunity Statement Mathys+Potestio values applicants of all backgrounds and experiences.
