Michael Hsu Office of Architecture is an award-winning, fully integrated architecture and interior design practice with offices in Austin and Houston. Our work is rooted in hospitality and placemaking and includes diverse projects that range from large mixed-use developments, adaptive reuse projects, public realm design, architectural branding, single family homes, hotels, restaurants, workspaces, and bespoke furniture design. We work throughout Texas and across the country in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta and Denver.About the PositionWe are seeking a Project Architect/Designer within the Houston area to join our office. The ideal candidate would have experience and interest in larger projects such as single family residential and small to medium sized commercial developments. This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of three days working in-person from our Houston office.Responsibilities IncludeLeading and contributing to the design of projects across a variety of scales, typology, and design phaseCollaboration on project design, translation of design concepts into construction documents/details, and construction administrationPreparation of construction documents, specifications, and oversight of construction administrationContribute to technical leadership on projectsTranslation of design concepts into construction documents for both interior and exterior systemsConsultant coordinationParticipation on multiple concurrent projects in various capacitiesJob Requirements3+ years of professional experience in design & construction documents of commercial projects or single family residential (previous experience on hospitality projects is a plus)Bachelor's or Master's Degree in ArchitectureProficient in AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite, Revit/BIM ProductionAbility to commute to our Houston office a minimum of three days a weekKnowledge of architectural practice, including design, documentation, detailing, building materials, building codes and construction technologiesDemonstrated design skillsTechnical proficiency and creative problem solvingStrong verbal, written and graphic communication skillsAbility to multi-task and work on multiple projects concurrently across various scales, typology, and phase of designPositive attitude and willingness to work within a teamPowered by JazzHR
