Job Title: Research Associate IIJob Location: Lexington, MA (On-site)Job Duration: 6 Months+Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm, May need to work outside of standard hours sometimes (evenings/weekends)Must haves: Proficient at Tissue Culture Experience in working with Scientists to follow required protocols (Some kind of support) Communication/OrganizationJob Description:NOTES: Industry experience doesn’t matter; Pharma experience is a plus. Degree can be any, Biology, Biochemistry Degree is a positive. MUST HAVE tissue culture experience (sterile technique); iPSC, ESC or pluripotent stem cell culture experience a plus. Purpose: To provide technical laboratory research effort in support of multiple projects focused on expedited creation and evaluation of in human vitro models and assays. Essential Functions: Work with scientists to conduct lab-based studies to support project effortsPerform tissue culture work with human cell lines to develop and optimize workflows for cell model creation and quality controlSupport project management efforts in standard operating procedure creation, sharing knowledge and skills, and fostering cross-functional teamworkEngage in effective communication with colleagues within Client. Physical Requirements: No overnight travel requiredWork with human cell lines, recombinant DNA, and common molecular biology reagents in a laboratory environment that may include hazardous chemicals and blood borne pathogensFunctions may require some morning, evening, or weekend hours outside of standard business hoursQualifications:Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of experience post-degree; relevant experience may be substituted as appropriate. Title is dependent on qualifications. Tissue culture experience is required—including strong aseptic technique and BSL2 stewardship, fixation and staining of cells, and troubleshootingExperience with automated laboratory equipment, complex machinery, and familiarity of high throughput data production principles are a plusAbility to carry out complex protocols requiredExperience in basic molecular biology techniques requiredExperience working in a team environment required, industry (CRO, pharmaceutical, biotech) experience is preferredFluency in spoken and written English is a prerequisite for the role Role requires proactive communication skills and cross-cultural understanding to interact within a global organizationMust be comfortable in asking for clarification and offering suggestionsOther desirable skills include propagation and manipulation of iPSC cultures, in vitro genome engineering, advanced cellular imaging and/or high throughput data collection skills, and ability to interpret interdisciplinary dataMust love to learn, be ambitious, and be determined to contribute to improving patients' well-being.
