Job DescriptionAramark Facilities Management is hiring a Custodial Manager to lead custodial operations at the University of New Hampshire.This role is responsible for overseeing evening custodial operations across university buildings and campus facilities while leading frontline custodial teams in a fast-paced higher education environment. The Custodial Manager will play a critical role in maintaining clean, safe, and well-presented facilities for students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.We are seeking a strong operational leader with experience managing custodial, housekeeping, environmental services, or facilities cleaning teams in large-scale higher education environments. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly organized, customer-focused, and comfortable managing teams in active operational environments where quality, responsiveness, and accountability matter.This opportunity offers the ability to step into a leadership role within a stable university environment while joining one of the largest facilities management organizations in the country. Compensation & ScheduleSalary range: $60,000 - $75,000 annually Schedule Expectations: 2nd Shift Schedule: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PMThis is a dedicated 2nd shift leadership role supporting active university operations during afternoon and evening hours. Candidates should be comfortable working evenings consistently, including occasional weekends, campus events, emergency response situations, or operational coverage needs.Job ResponsibilitiesLead Custodial Operations Across CampusOversee daily custodial operations across academic buildings, common areas, residence halls, and campus facilitiesManage custodial associates and frontline team leads during the 2nd shiftEnsure cleaning schedules, staffing assignments, and operational priorities are completed effectivelyMaintain strong cleanliness, safety, and appearance standards throughout campus facilitiesSupport a positive campus experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitorsQuality Assurance & InspectionsConduct regular inspections to ensure custodial quality standards are consistently metIdentify operational issues and implement corrective action quicklyPartner with university leadership and facilities teams to maintain strong client satisfactionOperations & Facilities CoordinationCoordinate staffing plans, work assignments, and daily operational coverageReview work orders and prioritize custodial activities based on campus needsMaintain effective communication with campus stakeholders and facilities leadershipInventory, Equipment & Budget OversightMonitor custodial supply usage and equipment needsEnsure custodial equipment is properly maintained and operationalHelp manage supply expenses and operational efficienciesSafety & ComplianceEnsure compliance with OSHA, university, and Aramark safety standardsPromote proper PPE usage and safe work practicesMaintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulationsQualifications2+ years of custodial, housekeeping, environmental services, or facilities operations leadership experiencePrior experience supervising custodial or cleaning teams requiredExperience working in large facilities environments preferred:Universities or collegesHospitals or healthcare facilitiesHotels or hospitality operationsAirports or transportation facilitiesConvention centers or event venuesCommercial office buildingsPublic facilitiesPreferred Skills & ExperienceStrong knowledge of custodial operations, cleaning procedures, and custodial equipmentExperience managing staffing schedules and operational workflowsAbility to lead teams in fast-paced, customer-facing environmentsStrong communication, leadership, and organizational skillsCustomer-service mindset with strong attention to detailComputer and administrative skills preferredBachelor?s degree or equivalent operational leadership experience preferredPhysical RequirementsAbility to walk large campus facilities throughout shiftAbility to stand, bend, lift, push, and move equipment as neededAbility to work in active custodial and facilities environmentsThis role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing.
