Data Center Technician

Job Title: Data Center TechnicianShift: Two Shifts Available. Day and Night Shift.Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled and reliable Data Technician to join our team. The primary responsibilities for this role will include building data cabinets, racking, and stacking in a data center environment. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months of prior experience in data center rack and stack work and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, technical environment. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a high-impact project while gaining hands-on experience in the data center industry.Key Responsibilities:Rack and Stack: Install servers, switches, routers, and other hardware into server racks and cabinets. Ensure proper cable management and secure all equipmentData Cabinet Setup: Build and configure data cabinets, including positioning and mounting hardware in compliance with safety and organizational standardsCable Management: Properly route, label, and secure cables to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient data center layoutEquipment Testing: Ensure that installed equipment is powered on and functioning correctly, and perform basic diagnostics if neededData Center Maintenance: Assist with data center maintenance tasks, including monitoring temperature, power, and environmental controlsDocumentation: Accurately document the installation and configuration of hardware and any changes made to data center setupsSafety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while working within the data center environment to maintain a safe and efficient workspaceQualifications:Experience: At least 2 year of prior data center rack and stack experience, including knowledge of data center hardware installation, cable management, and general data center operationsTechnical Skills: Basic understanding of server hardware, networking equipment, and how they integrate within a data center environmentPhysical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 50 lbs), bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time. Comfortable working in tight spacesAttention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure proper installation, cable management, and system configurationProblem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot basic hardware issues and report any problems or discrepancies to senior techniciansTeamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members and follow instructions from senior technicians and project managersWork Environment: Willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with strict deadlines and performance targetsPreferred Qualifications:Previous experience working in a large-scale data center environmentFamiliarity with industry-standard data center racking systems and cabling practicesKnowledge of basic network equipment (e.g., routers, switches) and server configurationsAdditional Information:Work Hours: Full-time hours, Monday through Friday (with potential for overtime based on project deadlines)Powered by JazzHRxEL5IvSwFu
