About This Position: This position supports the Engineering Technician 5, Tech Consultant, and Engineer 6 by coordinating maintenance contract bidding and roadway maintenance program activities. Responsibilities include independently preparing and managing complex pre- and post-bid documents, conducting letter bid openings, preparing maintenance agreement documents, tracking funding authorizations, and providing guidance on bid document preparation. The role also supports various DOTD sections, including bridge maintenance, ITS, ferry systems, landscaping, and district design teams, ensuring compliance and efficient contract administration. While in official capacity, DOTD employees must comply with applicable Louisiana and Civil Services laws, rules and regulations, as well as DOTD policies, procedures, manuals, and directives. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: Prepares and manages bid documents by writing specifications, assembling construction bid proposals, issuing addenda, and ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements for maintenance projects. Coordinates maintenance agreements by preparing and reviewing contracts for services such as mowing, litter collection, and traffic signal maintenance in collaboration with district offices and the Legal Section.
