Product Specialist
Position Summary
The PHT Product Specialist (PPS) works with internal and external customers as the technical resource by providing timely PHT product recommendations and pricing, coordinates and monitors the flow of orders from purchasing through shipping. The PPS verifies product quantities & pricing to ensure compliance with APC standards and the division VP pricing rules. The PPS acts as a back-up to the International Coordinator and Export Compliance responsibilities, which includes coordination of freight services, international tariff coding, hazmat shipping compliance, export documentation creation, and monitoring of US Embargoed countries for all international shipments.
Responsibilities
· Work in conjunction with product manager and Hauff-Technik representative, including weekly meetings.
· Point of contact for all departments to ensure part numbers are correct, orders are placed, documentation is created, ship dates are documented and reported.
· Provide updates on projects to managers and/or other stakeholders (purchasing manager, manufacturing, receiving, sales).
· Organize project logistics, such as expedited shipping requests and samples.
· Sharing relevant feedback and insights with team to improve integration of PHT products into Polywater production systems.
· Providing support to sales when requested; technical drawings custom pricing, estimated delivery dates.
· Communicate with clients to assist with PHT technical questions- seal selection, custom seal requests.
· Access instruction manuals and product resources to help users utilize their products properly.
· Keep logs of client problems, solutions, and customer satisfaction through Hubspot.
· Coordinate details of freight companies, such as contact and account information.
· Determine exact weight and dimensions of cartons or pallets, dangerous good classification, and obtain shipping quotes.
· Create export documentation based on destination country and shipping method, including approval of freight rates.

Skills and Specifications
· Strong mathematical skills. Comfortable with conversions from inches to millimeters (mm).
· Knowledge of Polywater production practices and systems.
· Strong problem-solving skills, entrepanureal, innovative.
· Strong communication skills, both written and orally.
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Strong time management skills, ability to prioritize changing projects, and multi-task. Monitor daily progress of projects through production.
· Mechanical drawing aptitude – read and decipher blue prints and drawings.
· Functional understanding of international tariff coding system, US/Canada Trade Agreements, and PARS notification.
· Ability to run daily Canadian customs report using M2M.
· Functional understanding of Incoterms 2020.
· Working knowledge of APC’s Dangerous Goods Shipping Guidelines to ensure freight services comply with additional reporting requirements.
· Knowledge of U.S. Embargoed Country list to ensure no orders are taken for prohibited countries and individuals.
Education and Qualifications
· Some college.
· 3 years of experience in shipping products outside the U.S.
· Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, M2M, DocuWare, and Shipping Solutions.
· Knowledge of hazardous material shipment, foreign trade, Canadian customs, and international tariff coding systems.
· Some experience with Incoterms 2020 and the Embargoed Country lists.
Physical Requirements
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift 40 pounds occasionally.
· Required to stand, walk, and sit, to talk and hear; to use hands to manipulate, hold, handle, lift, feel, control, etc.; to use fingers to touch, adjust, insert, move, etc.; to use eyes to read letters, literature, and computer screens.
