General Manager
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all snow and landscape activity within their branch while leading their team to successful outcomes and achieving company and financial objectives.Areas of responsibility:General ResponsibilitiesBuild branch plan to achieve sales, operational, and financial objectives and execute with team through strong leadership and accountabilityLead and grow all team members to create a successful, team minded branch. To insure that all safety policies are enforced with regards to all company operationsTo complete all required paperwork in a timely and efficient mannerUnderstand and build plan to execute on company goals and objectivesSales ResponsibilitiesDevelop and continually evolve a fully-integrated, professional sales organizationDevelop sales goals and KPIs to track renewals, new sales conversion and close ratesProvide weekly sales updates to senior management which include forward looking statements to project weekly, monthly, seasonal sales totals as well as comparisons to prior year(s) resultsPrepare presentation materials for more involved bids as neededDevelop and implement marketing initiatives to help facilitate sales goals and meet annual company sales/profitability objectivesIdentify new tools to further streamline the lead/sales generation processDevelop a process with key milestone dates to ensure a seamless transition from seasonal operations in to the selling seasonOperations ResponsibilitiesLead Operations team to build strong plan to execute efficiently, safely, and profitablyMonitor benchmarks and KPIs with team and report activity to managementManage fleet asset utilization and efficiency while working with management on procurement strategiesAssist with winter storm planning and physically help manage storms; monitor crew activity and customer service communicationEnsures the timely and accurate completion of required administrative, HR, and financial activities dailyOn-going Goals and objectives:To continually improve knowledge and understanding of company’s snow removal and landscape operationsTo continually improve organization and efficiency with regards to his/her responsibilitiesTo set personnel performance goals and objectives annuallyActively participate in personal self-improvement by reading and participating in self-motivation and goal setting programsIncrease overall sales of snow & landscaping within branch while maintaining margins and profitabilityContinually maintain or improve moral of company ‘partners’ and sub-contractorsMentor ‘partners’ and sub contractors to reinforce company culture and visionAchieve certified snow professional status within two years of employmentImplement and enforce company policies and standard operating proceduresManage and maintain positive relationships with contracting firms, vendors and sub-contractorsSeek out ways to improve efficiencies in all facets of the businessEnsure that team members are meeting company expectationsSpecific Responsibilities to oversee and/or do:Facilitate all sales and marketing efforts in snow divisionAssist in strategic planning, marketing and finance planningSupports company quest to become industry leader within company’s marketsSet personal performance goals and objectives annuallyConducts meetings as required with District Managers, Operations Managers, Office, Fleet and Senior Management staffAttends, contributes and participates actively in all required company meetingsContributes to efforts in reaching company goals and objectivesReinforces through performance the company ‘mission statement’.To participate in establishing company goals and objectives Minimum Requirements to meet job eligibility:Extensive knowledge and understanding of snow and landscape operationsMust possess excellent verbal and written skillsMust have excellent oral communication, inter-personnel, multi-tasking and organizational skillsMust be computer literate; including working knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteMust possess excellent math skills and strong aptitude to understand and analyze financial statements relating to snow & ice divisionMust possess cost accounting skills including budget preparation and financial projectionsMust be able to perform take-offs and prepare detailed bid documents based on specifications for snow & ice control servicesBenefits:Competitive salary based on experienceMedical, dental and vision insurance benefitsCompany-sponsored Group Term Life & Short-Term Disability insurance401k retirement plan with company matchPaid vacation and holidaysWinter Services is an equal opportunity employer that takes pride in creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
