Job Overview
We are looking for opening staff for our new poke shop. Open positions include prep cooks, and applicants with fish-filleting experience are especially welcome. Full-time and part-time positions are available. This role involves preparing ingredients, cooking dishes, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients and components for menu items according to recipes and standards
Assist in cooking and plating dishes during service, ensuring presentation meets quality standards
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including prep stations and cooking areas
Follow food safety guidelines and proper handling procedures at all times
Support menu planning by preparing ingredients in advance for upcoming service periods
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, mixers, and ovens
Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and storage of supplies
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
Adhere to dietary guidelines and accommodate special dietary needs when necessary
Maintain a positive attitude and uphold professional standards in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
Previous experience in food preparation, culinary roles, or restaurant kitchens preferred
Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques
Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods
Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food industry standards
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Culinary experience in fine dining or catering environments is a plus
Experience with dietary aide tasks or dietary department work is desirable
Basic understanding of food service operations and customer service principles
