Plastics Extrusion Supervisor

Job purpose Directly responsible to ensure all extrusion processes are in control and continuously optimized to produce product in a manner that meets and exceeds desired specifications. Efficiency and equipment utilization are key factors that will be a measure of success. Duties and responsibilities Ensure all tools are properly balanced and flow to optimal capacity. New tool builds from paper to production. Engineer and develop new products. Work with material suppliers to achieve maximum production and quality. Design and engineering quality through process. Establish and grow a staff to meet production needs. Ensures maintenance is proper and timely on all equipment. Responsible for continuous improvement Responsible for following all OSHA and safety rules and regulations. Responsible for following all FLEX Building Systems and DES-CLAW, LLC policies and procedures. Expectations / Key Performance Indicators of this position include: Line to run at rate while maintaining quality and a clean safe work environment. Work with your team and other support positions to ensure daily. Process Repeatability 98% + first time quality Continuous improvement Authorities of this position include: Discontinue any operation or activity which is unsafe. Request and/or work with the appropriate personnel to resolve the issue immediately. Work with Quality to revise/update paperwork to manufacture 100% quality parts. Assign production tech to work areas as needed. Discontinue manufacturing a part that does not have proper paperwork or documentation. Manage personnel to: Guarantee safety Keep a clean work environment Qualifications Education/Experience: Plastic Profile extrusion background with a minimum of three years' experience in plastics processing. Must be experienced in tool set-ups, trouble shooting, exposure to maintenance problems and be familiar with state-of-the-art controls on machines. Skills: Effective communication Leadership Good analytical and troubleshooting skills with strong problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of materials and mechanical systems Experience with QS/TS/ISO - APQP, PFMEA, control plans. Auto Cad Management Responsibility This position will have subordinates. Position Type/Hours of Work This is a full-time position working 50 hours per week. Schedule: Monday - Friday 07:00AM - 05:00PM
