Staff/Project Geotechnical Engineer

Pacifica Engineering Services is hiring a Geotechnical Staff Engineer to support a wide range of construction and infrastructure projects across Florida.This is a hands-on role. You will be in the field, in the lab, and in the office. If you want real project exposure, fast growth, and responsibility early, this is it.Responsibilities:Perform and assist with geotechnical field investigations, including soil borings and test pitsConduct field inspections and testing per project specifications and industry standardsCoordinate laboratory testingInterpret soil and rock data and assist in engineering evaluationsPrepare geotechnical reports with recommendations for foundations, earthwork, and site developmentCoordinate with drilling crews, laboratory staff, and project managersMonitor construction activities including compaction, grading, and foundation installationsEnsure compliance with FDOT standards, project specifications, and OSHA safety requirementsMaintain accurate field logs, daily reports, and documentationAssist in troubleshooting field and construction-related geotechnical issuesQualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related fieldEIT preferred or ability to obtain within 6–12 monthsPE license is a plus, but not required1–5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering or CMTKnowledge of soil mechanics and foundation designFamiliarity with FDOT standards is a plusStrong communication skillsProficient in Microsoft OfficeWork Requirements:Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periodsWillingness to travel to job sites across FloridaValid driver’s license with a clean recordWhat We Offer:Salary: $55,000 – $90,000 (based on experience)Health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysCareer growth and advancement opportunities
