DirectorAPPROVED BY: BCBOE DATE: 06/11/2025Overview:Engage and inspire school-age children to learn and become responsible adults. Assist students with homework on various levels of study. Oversee the core programs of the students by planning, developing, and implementing programs and activities that support the organization's standards. Must monitor and evaluate situations quickly using good judgment to assess conditions and make decisions. Create and maintain a safe environment for members and adults within the program space. Communicate with parents as necessary regarding behavior issues and events.Responsibilities:Supervise students while they complete homework.Work individually and in small groups with members to enrich their skills in math, reading, writing, and other academic areas, as well as address their social and emotional needs.For this position, there will be a specialized focus on reading and mathEncourage students to participate in homework completion and enrichment activitiesAssist members with homework completion and enrichment activitiesProvide positive guidance and role modeling to membersComplete all training hours as required. Qualifications:Post-Secondary Degree or in the process of obtaining oneExperience working with children preferredExperience tutoring or mentoring youth preferredTeaching experience preferredKnowledge of youth developmentAbility to motivate youth and manage behavior problemsAbility to deal with the general publicAbility to plan and implement quality programs for youthAbility to organize and supervise members in a safe environmentAttend ALL staff meetings and special training for employeesAll staff participate in special programs and events Teachers Requirement:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty.
