Unix/Linux Systems Engineer / Programmer

Role: Unix/Linux Systems Engineer / ProgrammerLocation: New York or Alpharetta. Need to work from office 3 Days a week and need to come office for Face2Face Round of InterviewContractFace2Face Round of InterviewPosition: Unix System ProgrammerExperience: 6+ YearsKey Responsibilities:• Design, develop, maintain, and support Unix/Linux-based applications and system-level programs.• Develop and enhance shell scripts (Korn Shell, Bash, Perl, Python) for automation, monitoring, and operational tasks.• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve performance, memory, process, and system-related issues in Unix environments.• Work with file systems, process management, networking, and system administration tasks.• Support production releases, incident management, and root cause analysis for critical applications.• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, database, and middleware teams to ensure system stability and performance.• Implement automation solutions for deployment, monitoring, and operational efficiency.Required Skills:• Strong experience in Unix/Linux System Programming.• Proficiency in Shell Scripting (KSH/Bash) and scripting languages such as Python or Perl.• Good understanding of Unix internals, process/thread management, memory management, IPC, and networking concepts.• Experience with TCP/IP, sockets programming, file systems, and performance tuning.• Knowledge of Git, CI/CD tools, monitoring, and automation frameworks.• Experience working in enterprise production support and troubleshooting environments.Preferred Skills:• Banking/Financial Services domain experience.• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).• Knowledge of DevOps practices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and infrastructure automation.Domain: Banking, Financial Services & Capital Markets (Preferred)Provide your feedback on BizChatAdd more on shell scripting.Include preferred qualifications.Expand on automation tools.FilesFiles
