Job Description Field Electrical and Service Engineer$70-100k per year to startPosition SummaryWe're on the lookout for a skilled Field Engineer! This full-time role combines electrical and control system expertise with hands-on field service responsibilities for screen-printing, dry-offset, flexographic, and digital printing machines. In this position, you will troubleshoot technical issues, conduct in-field maintenance, and deliver both on-site and remote support for automated printing equipment. This position combines work at the Erlanger technical office with travel to customer sites across North America (~50-70% field travel) and occasional international travel for training or collaboration with the engineering team at the company headquarters in Italy. Strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams are essential to ensure equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and high customer satisfaction.Roles and ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination: Interface with clients and contractors to plan, schedule, and execute project activities.On-Site Activities: Test, maintain, and repair electrical systems, components, and automated machinery, while providing daily support to both the internal parts department as well as customers.Field Service & Technical Support: Install, debug, and start-up printing machines; perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs; provide on-site assistance and training to customer operators, maintenance teams, and technicians for installations, troubleshooting, and system issues.Electrical / Engineering Duties: Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PLC/HMI code, and control panel layouts; troubleshoot control systems including PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, sensors, and industrial networks; support retrofit projects and engineering upgrades.Problem-Solving: Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems related to electrical, control, and mechanical systemsDocumentation: Prepare technical reports, service records, and recommended solutions.Safety Enforcement: Ensure adherence to safety protocols both in-house and at customer sites.Communication: Clearly convey technical information, project updates, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical personnel.Qualifications & SkillsBachelor's degree or equivalent field service experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field — preferred but not required.Background in electrical engineering, with exposure to machinery installation, maintenance, or industrial automation preferred.Familiarity with high-speed printing machinery for plastic or glass containers is a plus.Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm to learn new systems, processes, and technical nuances.Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including electro-mechanical, PLCs, VME, PC, servo drives, sensors, and control circuits.Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, PLC logic, and control panel layouts and knowledge of remote diagnostics, industrial networking, and data loggingExcellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical abilities.Strong teamwork, leadership, communication, and customer service skills.Ability to travel extensively throughout North America, including overnight stays, with light international travel as needed.Valid driver's license and valid passport required.Ability to work independently in fast-paced, field-based environments and adapt to changing technologies.Compensation and BenefitsSalary: Commensurate with experience (BOE)Benefits Package Includes:o Employer-sponsored Health Insuranceo Employer-covered Short-term Disability and Life Insuranceo Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Holidayso Optional Aflac Products availableo Travel Expense Reimbursemento Professional Development Opportunities (including international training in Italy)Working ConditionsFrequent travel to customer manufacturing sites across North America and occasional international travel.50-70% travelWork in active production environments involving the operation of machinery and equipment.Industrial environments may include machinery noise, conveyors, and material handling.Strict adherence to safety protocols requiredJob Type: Full-timeWork Location: In person
