Immediately Hiring CNC Machine Operators In Winston-Salem, NC2nd shift, 5pm-3am, Monday - Thursday, $22 - $26/HOURSetup custom CNC equipment in a fully climate-controlled, busy machine shop environment.Work on larger, custom parts using 35 axis CNC mills and lathes, taking ownership of machine setup, quality, and mechanical troubleshooting.ResponsibilitiesPerform advanced setup, calibration, and operation of CNC machinery, including 35 axis mills and lathes, to process raw materials safely and efficiently.Run custom (non-production) CNC jobs, adjusting offsets and parameters as needed to meet part specifications and maintain consistent quality.Interpret production work orders, technical blueprints, and program layouts to determine tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining sequence.Deburr parts and complete finishing operations to ensure all components meet dimensional and surface finish requirements.Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other inspection instruments to conduct in-process and final quality checks.Set up and touch off tooling, load programs and parameters, and adjust G & M codes as needed based on the program layout and job requirements.Monitor machine performance during operation, identify and troubleshoot basic mechanical or process issues, and make appropriate adjustments to maintain accuracy and productivity.Maintain fluid levels, including coolant and oil, and ensure machines operate within proper maintenance and safety standards.Load and unload raw materials, manage material flow to and from machines, and assist with tracking shop inventory such as coils, sheets, and skids.Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, to move parts and materials safely within the shop as required.Keep assigned work areas, tools, and machinery clean, organized, and in good working condition to support a safe and efficient work environment.Participate in interviews and shop walkthroughs by demonstrating knowledge of CNC machines, setups, and tooling when meeting with leadership.Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines while contributing to a positive and collaborative shop culture.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with 4 or 5 axis CNC machines in a custom machining environment.Experience operating or setting up CNC mills and CNC lathes, including brands such as Okuma, Haas, Puma, and Mori Seiki.Familiarity with CNC plasma tables or similar advanced CNC equipment.Experience working in a fully climate-controlled machine shop.Comfortable using forklifts or other material handling equipment to move raw materials and finished parts.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining clean, organized workspaces.Interest in mechanical, custom work and problem-solving in a hands-on environment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Winston Salem, NC.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
