Embedded EngineerLocation: Oakland, CA / San Francisco, CAWork Arrangement: On-SiteTravel: Occasional travel to client sites, including TexasExperience: 2+ YearsEmployment Type: Full-TimePosition SummaryThink Circuits is seeking an Embedded Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and support embedded firmware and software for complex hardware systems. The engineer will work closely with electrical, mechanical, and software teams and support products throughout the lifecycle from prototype to production and deployment.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and support embedded firmware and software for CPU and MCU-based systems.Own embedded firmware activities across multidisciplinary engineering projects.Integrate and troubleshoot sensors, actuators, electronics, and embedded systems.Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers on system integration.Support hardware bring-up, assembly, debugging, testing, and validation.Develop manufacturing test software and automated test solutions.Support compliance, product quality, safety, and deployment-readiness activities.Troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues and perform root-cause analysis.Create and maintain technical documentation and test procedures.Collaborate with vendors, contractors, clients, and internal engineering teams.Support product development from prototype through production and field deployment.Utilize AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar agentic workflows.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.2+ years of professional experience in embedded systems, firmware, or embedded software development.Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Python.Experience with MCUs, embedded CPUs, sensors, actuators, and electronics.Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up, debugging, testing, and system integration.Strong understanding of hardware/software interaction.Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.Ability to work effectively with clients, vendors, and external stakeholders.Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent.Preferred QualificationsExperience taking products from prototype to production.Experience with manufacturing test and production validation.Experience with electromechanical systems and field deployments.Previous experience in a client-facing or consulting engineering environment.Work Location & TravelThis is an on-site position based in Oakland, CA and/or client locations in San Francisco, CA.
