CTR Group is seeking experienced Shipfitters 1st Class for a Shipyard in the in the Pascagoula area for full-time positions. Travelers Welcome!Recently separated or retired Navy Hull Technicians encouraged to apply!PAY RATE: $38 per Hour with Benefits Plus $147 Per Diem for Non-Local Candidates.SUMMARY:A First-Class Shipfitter, also referred to as a Journeyman Shipfitter or a Boilermaker, is responsible for various tools and equipment used in the fabrication, assembling and erection of metal components at the various stages in constructing a marine vessel. The shipyard production areas at times involve working at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions as well as multiple shifts 24 hours a day. As with most every position in the shipyard, a Shipfitter may be required to work either day or night dependent upon the number of ships under construction at any one point in time. Ingalls stresses the practice of working safely in all situations, with safety procedures meeting, and most times, exceeding industry standards.Must Have:· Minimum 4 Yrs. trade experience· Basic math, reading and comprehension skills· Read and interpret blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements· Knowledge of the layout, fit-up and fabrication of steel plate and beam.· Experience with various trade specific tools such as: grinder, hand torch, hydraulic and ratchet jack, chain fall and/or come-a-long, combination square, framing square, hand level and plumb bob· Nice to Have:· 6Ç Yrs. marine, shipbuilding and construction experience· Knowledge of setting and erecting units with proficiency in the use of Datum Lines· Familiarity with fit-up, alignment tolerances and advanced blue print reading skillsFind out if this opportunity is a good fit by reading all of the information that follows below.Keywords: shipfitter, ship fitter, tack, burn, weld, fabrication, fabricator, marine, shipyard, Naval, Navy, military, clearance, OSHA, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, SMAW, overhead, vertical, shipbuilding, hull technicians,CTR Group is a full-service staffing firm with over 35 years of experience in placing skilled trade's professionals.
