Switch Technician III - Hickory Hills, ILJob OverviewWe are seeking a Switch Technician (Technician Systems III) to support the building, provisioning, and integration of routers within a complex telecom network environment. The role involves remote integration of network elements, coordination with field engineers, and ensuring equipment is fully operational within the network.This position requires strong technical expertise in switching systems, transport fiber testing, and telecom network provisioning, along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and provision Nokia/Cisco routers and integrate them into the live network remotelyCreate configuration and integration files to enable remote access and activationCollaborate with field engineers to bring network equipment onlinePerform transport fiber testing to ensure compliance with specificationsSupport Mobile Switching Center (MSC) operations and advanced switching functionsWork with multiple stakeholders to track milestones and ensure project deliveryUpdate trackers, documentation, and system records accuratelyOperate in a complex telecom environment with minimal supervisionMust-Have SkillsStrong understanding of TCP/IP networkingHands-on experience with Nokia or Verizon or Ericsson router provisioningExperience in telecom switching environments (MSC preferred)Basic to intermediate computer and system administration skillsExperience in large-scale telecom transport or wireless core environmentsEducation / CertificationsTechnical degree in Engineering, or Telecommunications preferredMinimum 8 years of hands-on experience in Mobile Switching Center (MSC) environmentsWe are Connectors.
