Job Title: BuyerLocation: Painted Post, NYDuration: 12 Months (Possible of extension)Pay: $20/hr on w2Job Description:The Buyer supports Lead and Strategic Sourcing Managers by executing and managing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, tracking payments and project deliverables, and assisting with cost and schedule management.This role works closely with Strategic Sourcing, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Shared Services to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective procurement of goods and services, while further developing expertise in Client's capital procurement processes and systems.Key Responsibilities:Procurement & Administrative SupportSupport day-to-day strategic sourcing activities in coordination with Lead and Strategic Sourcing ManagersManage purchase requisitions and purchase orders, including pricing, lead times, delivery requirements, and basic terms and conditionsIdentify, track, and help resolve issues impacting purchase orders, payables, and supplier performanceCoordinate with Shared Services on PO management, invoice processing, and issue resolutionSupplier & Project Coordination:Coordinate with suppliers on order confirmations, schedule status, and delivery trackingAssist in resolving invoice discrepancies and order fulfillment issuesSupport supplier onboarding, documentation, and compliance requirementsTrack project-level procurement deliverables, milestones, and supporting documentationData, Compliance & Continuous Improvement:Maintain procurement records, order logs, and basic spend tracking, as requiredEnsure purchasing activities comply with company policies, procedures, and approval limitsAssist Strategic Sourcing Managers and Category Leads with sourcing support, quote collection, and basic cost comparisonsParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement processes, data accuracy, and execution disciplineQualifications & Experience:Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, or related fieldPrior experience supporting a procurement or supply chain team in a business environmentWorking knowledge or familiarity with ERP/MRP systemProficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Word)Strong attention to detail with demonstrated organizational and follow-through skillsKey Skills & Competencies:Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environmentAnalytical mindset with basic cost and data analysis capabilitiesStrong work ethic with consistent interaction across peers, buyers, leadership, and suppliersDisciplined in follow-up, action tracking, and concise communicationWillingness to learn procurement processes, contracts, and negotiation fundamentals, with a focus on capital procurementThis role provides with a strong foundation in Corporate and Capital Procurement through direct engagement with experienced professionals.
