Come join our team!Route Foremen are responsible for assisting management in overseeing a group of drivers to ensure safe and productive services to customers. Route Foremen assist with ensuring routes are complete, drivers' observations are complete, and ensuring resolution of customer issues and missed stops.Responsibilities of Position:Assist management with the daily activities of route drivers including driver observations, lot inspections, Vehicle Safety Inspections, auditing and maintenance of routesEnsure routes are completed by assigned driver or utility driver; run routes as neededManage missed stops by working cooperatively with dispatch, drivers and/or office staff to resolve issuesAssist with assigning and tracking daily work orders to driversEnsure drivers complete paperwork in accordance with DOT regulations and company policyAssist with the resolution of customer service issuesMaintain a thorough understanding of Hours of Service (HOS) regulations to determine when a DOT log is required and provide assistance to drivers in accurately completing the log, if necessaryMonitor and enforce quality and safety standards and ensure all compliance goals are met or exceededEnsure completion of daily routes and ensure that all productivity goals are met or exceededAssist with delivery of containersConduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections and completes logsMaintain and updates drivers' log sheetsAssist with minor accident investigation and manage accident reporting, including upload photos and relevant documentationPerform other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibility:This position will not manage employeesSkills & Abilities Needed for Position:Must be able to work independently, assist management, and resolve problemsMust be able to operate all required equipmentMaintain a positive and professional work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with all employees, co-workers, management and external customersMust be proficient in the use of computersMust exhibit leadership qualities in order to drive day-to-day operations with the teamExperience & Knowledge Needed for Position:1-2 years' experience driving with CDL required; lead role experience preferredKnowledge of area with the ability to read mapsMust have knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulationsPrevious waste industry experience a plusPhysical Requirements in a Regular Workday:Continuously lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 75 lbsOccasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of100 lbsContinuously working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditionsContinuously working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matterContinuously stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawlingContinuously climbing and/or balancingContinuously sitting/standing/walkingAdditional Working Conditions/Aspects:Must have at least a valid Class B CDLMust have a valid DOT Medical Card or able to obtain prior to hireMust be at least 19 years of ageNo more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 yearsMust not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 yearsPossible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areasExposure to residential and commercial wasteAbility to travel between offices, as requiredAbility to workflexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as neededAbility to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidaysLegally eligible to work in the United StatesValid driver's license (if applicable)Must successfully complete pre-employment testingMust be able to read and speak the English languageThis job description is intended to describe the general nature, complexity, and level of work to be performed by employees assigned to this position and is not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and/or skills required.
