Location: Springfield MO Pay: $145.00-165.00 per hour Assignment Length: Initial 13-week contract Potential to extend Start Date: October 13, 2025 Openings: 1 Details: Inpatient, OR, Clinic & Call coverage EMR: EPIC Credentialing: 90 days Requirements: Willing to await licensure Board certification AHA BLS and ACLS certifications Minimum 1-year Cardiothoracic Surgery experience Travel Benefits: If you reside greater than 50 miles from the facility you are eligible for travel benefits. You will have your travel and lodging arranged by our travel department and paid for in full. Provided Travel Expenses: Round-trip flight Rental car and fuel Mileage reimbursement (in lieu of flight and rental car) Lodging Job Responsibilities (Generalized): Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Order and interpret diagnostic tests Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices. Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and PA specialty Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care Document patient care accurately and thoroughly Skills: Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to their specialty Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions Time management skills to efficiently manage a patient workload Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a healthcare team Education Requirements: Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program Licenses & Certifications: Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Missouri National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Experience: While specific requirements may vary, most locum PA positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty Additional Notes: Locum tenens PA positions are temporary assignments, often lasting weeks or months, to address staffing shortages in hospitals, surgical centers or other healthcare facilities These positions offer competitive pay and flexible schedules, allowing PAs to pursue diverse work environments and control their workload Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $145.00 - $165.00 per hour Work Location: In person
