Child Welfare Therapist-MissionFull-TimePosition Overview:Responds promptly to crisis situations, documents critical incidents and is available, as needed, to clientsRequires a minimum of 60 hours in home therapy per monthProvides crisis/on call services and 24 hour, 7 days a week support to assigned clientsFacilitates an initial meeting with the client and the referral source (as appropriate) within the required time framesEngages and works in partnership with the client to complete the initial, comprehensive assessment, including a mental status exam, resulting diagnosis based on the most recent Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental DisordersDevelops treatment plan goals and objectives, in conjunction with the clientProvides individual, family and/or group counseling as appropriate to client needFunctions as a client advocate and liaison with other community servicesMonitors client progress and service provision using the established tools, and updates treatment plans based on those assessmentsMaintains the client case record, documenting all client and collateral contacts in a timely manner in the electronic medical recordCompletes discharge summaries and aftercare contacts according to agency policyProvides written and verbal progress reports to referring entities within required time framesWorks cooperatively with other program staff to ensure seamless, effective servicesParticipates in regular clinical supervisionTravel to home-based therapy may require the employee to be able to regularly drive to various DCCCA locations and other business locations throughout the day including early morning or evening hoursRequirements Include:Requires a Master's degree in human services or related fieldRequires 2 years of child welfare and/or family services experienceRequires licensure by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board at the master's level. Clinical licensure is preferred.Valid driver's license with a good driving recordMust pass pre-employment background checks, reference checks, fingerprinting and drug screening
