Grade 3 Machinist (Class A Machinist)
Overview The Grade 3 Machinist position is an overtime-eligible, seniorcraft position that reports to the Machine Shop Management team. TheGrade 3 Machinist is responsible for manufacturing parts that meet orexceeds Charm Sciences standards. These standards include a high-levelof precision on all piece parts manufactured within the machine shop.Grade 3 Machinist is an A/R Class A Machinist. The pay range for thisposition is \$27.50 to \$41.00 per hour. Compensation will be determinedbased on education, experience, and other factors in accordance withApplicable Laws. Essential Functions Set Up And Operate Allmanufacturing equipment with minimal supervision. Proto-Trak Millers andProto-Trak Lathe, Surface Grinder, to fabricate tools, fixtures andCharm Sciences Products. Excellent work ethic, professional workattitude and a desire/ability to self-motivate. Determine machiningoperations, tool selections, setups and develop processes and proceduresusing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques. Keepaccurate records of work performance, processes and procedures, order ofoperations, tooling used for specific features, setup methods for eachspecific job. Inspect and Document first piece, in process and finalinspection and confirming other machinists first pieces. Select and useall necessary measuring tools, conventional hand tools, gage pins,calipers, micrometers, depth gage, and B&S Micro-Hite 350. Able to workfrom drawings, sketches, or verbal and written instructions. FullKnowledge of Blueprint interpretation and GD & T skilled. The person inthis position frequently operates various machine shop equipment such asSaws, Belt Sanders, Grinders, Drill Press, Shear, Brake, and other handtools as well as office equipment such as a computer. Effectivelycommunicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written inthe English language Excellent work ethics, professional work attitudeand a desire/ability to self motivate. Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesRequired: HS Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years machiningexperience or combination of experience and technical school training.Work between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, and available onsome Saturdays as needed. Must be able to perform highly technical andclose tolerance work to engineering drawings and written or verbalinstructions with Minimal supervision. Must be able to program andoperate PROTO-TRAK or equivalent Milling and Lathe machines with aminimal amount of supervision. Must have a thorough knowledge oftooling, fixtures, and machine setup to achieve quality precisionmachined components. Must have the ability to determine the need for andfabricate jigs and tooling. Preferred: Able to program Fadal and HAASVMC from the Controller using CNC \"G & M\" codes. Working experiencewith BOBCAM software Knowledgeable in Solidworks Skilled with MicrosoftOffice and Outlook. Physical Requirements: The person in this positionmust possess dexterity to manipulate parts being manufactured. Theperson in this position must be able to visually detect discrepancies /inspect machined parts Person in this position must be able to remainstationary for an extended length of time either at bench or desk Theperson in this position occasionally needs to move about the machineshop as well as access the main facility. Be in a production environmentwhere the noise level is generally noisy.
