Position: Solutions Architect
Location: Santa Clara, CA or Valley Green, PA or Nashua, NH or Austin, TX or
Seattle, WA
Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high
bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks,
Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the
electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs
globally. Our global headquarters is located in Nashua, NH and we have design,
sales, and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking Solutions
Architects to join our Cable Backplane Business Unit in multiple locations.
High speed cable backplane systems enable most of the world's IT and datacom;
including leading the way for the AI/ML revolution; and require some of the most
advanced manufacturing technologies, and highest levels of precision, in the
engineering world. These challenges require the most creative, technical minds,
and ultimately provide the most rewarding experience for an engineer.
Architects are Senior Technical leaders, Leading Customer Programs in all
aspects from ideation through frozen design and into volume production. They are
the design owners internally and in the face of the customer. They partner with
Program Managers and Product Line Managers to execute solutions for our
customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Our customer's ultimate success depends on our ability to solve cutting edge
problems in relation to interconnect solutions. We value our relationships with
these companies, and we depend on our Solutions Architecture team to drive this
ongoing partnership and lead these technical conversations.
Lead the architectural design and technical strategy for customer solutions
involving Amphenol Cable Backplane Systems (CBS)
Define system-level requirements, ensuring high-speed signal integrity,
mechanical alignment, thermal efficiency, and scalability.
Develop technical specifications, schematics, and proof-of-concept models
for cable backplane.
Function as the primary point of contact between the cable cartridge
manufacturer and the OEM.
Develop a strong understanding of the OEM's technical requirements, business
and technical goals, and challenges.
Facilitate regular meetings, technical discussions, and program updates with
OEM stakeholders.
Address customer concerns, manage expectations, and ensure alignment between
both organizations.
Provide strategic technical support for the development and implementation
of CBS products.
Prepare materials and lead high-level product presentations to key
stakeholders (including executives)
Provide advanced customer service to solve complex interconnect problems and
technical inquiries.
Devise and implement strategies to differentiate our products and solutions
from our competitors.
Lead efforts to meet and exceed strategic objectives.
Mentor junior engineers and provide leadership within the CBS front-end
engineering team.
Collaborate with multiple Business Units to ensure seamless integration of
CBS products into customer systems.
Develop and maintain technical documentation for CBS products and solutions.
Participate in industry conferences and seminars to stay updated on the
latest advancements.
Ensure project timelines and deliverables are completed in a timely manner
for projects.
30%-50% travel will be required

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
preferred.
An advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) is highly desirable.
The role will draw on either your electronic engineering background (signal
transmission, EMI/EMC, signal integrity) and/or your mechanical engineering
background (materials, tolerance analysis, CAD tools)
Minimum of 10 years demonstrated experience providing technical guidance on
interconnect solutions.
Deep knowledge of interconnect solutions and how they support the larger
system architecture either from working at a connector/cable company, or from
working on the customer side.
Experience with modeling tools and Microsoft Office Products
SKILLS
Ability to effectively communicate across the engineering and managerial
functions of a business.
Strong organizational and presentation skills
High-level customer service and ability to build relationships with
customers.
Expertise with modeling tools (Pro E or SolidWorks) preferred but not a
requirement.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products
