This role is part of the USB, Ethernet, and Networking Validation Team, responsible for validation of advanced connectivity products such as Ethernet PHYs, Ethernet switches, USB 3.2 hubs, and PCI Express devices, operating at data rates exceeding 25Gbps.The successful candidate will act as a technical leader in validation scoping, execution, debug, and results analysis, working closely with Design Engineering, Verification Engineering, Applications Engineering, Product Marketing, and Field teams to ensure high quality, production ready silicon.ResponsibilitiesDrive validation scoping by reviewing architecture specifications, datasheets, verification plans, and customer usage models to identify validation risks and coverage gapsLead development, ownership, and execution of validation strategies and test plans aligned with product requirements and market needsServe as a cross functional validation interface, collaborating closely with:Design EngineeringVerification EngineeringApplications EngineeringProduct Marketing and Product EngineeringPerform and lead lab based validation, including Design bring up, characterization, and interoperability testing for high speed connectivity devicesProvide hands on hardware support for validation, including:Review and contribution to validation board designsBoard bring up and system level debugDebug of power, clocking, reset, and high speed interface issuesDefine, track, and prioritize validation activities based on technical risk, customer impact, and program schedulesOwn and drive JIRA based debug workflows, including:Logging, triaging, and prioritizing validation issuesLeading cross functional debug and root cause discussionsTracking fixes, re validation, and closureReview, analyze, and clearly communicate validation results, debug findings, and recommendations to project and management stakeholdersSupport customer issue reproduction and escalations by collaborating with Applications and Field Engineering teamsMentor junior validation engineersContribute to continuous improvement of validation processes, metrics, and best practicesRequirements/QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline7.5+ years of experience in validation, test, or system level debug of complex ICs or connectivity productsStrong experience defining validation scope from specifications, verification collateral, and customer usage modelsHands on hardware experience, including:PCB bring up and debuggingUnderstanding of power delivery, clocking, reset sequencing, and signal integrity fundamentalsProficient use of electronics lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzersDemonstrated ability to independently drive debug, prioritize issues, and manage multiple deliverablesExperience using JIRA or similar issue tracking systems for debugging, prioritization, and closureStrong verbal and written communication skills for technical reviews, validation reports, and cross functional collaborationSelf motivated, well organized, and effective in a collaborative, cross functional team environmentPreferred QualificationsUnderstanding of high speed connectivity protocols:EthernetUSB (USB 2.0 / USB 3.x)PCI ExpressExperience reviewing schematics and layouts for silicon validation or reference boardsPython based automation for validation, data analysis, or lab equipment controlExposure to IC device characterization and silicon performance analysisExperience supporting customer escalations involving system level and silicon interaction issuesTravel Time0% - 25%Physical AttributesFeeling, Hearing, Reaching, Seeing, Talking, Works Alone, Works Around OthersPhysical Requirements10% Standing, 10% Walking, 80% Sitting, 100% Inside-MF 8-5PMPay RangeWe offer a total compensation package that ranks among the best in the industry.
