As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will: Develop new equipment and standardize existing machine designs Provide hands‑on troubleshooting support for manufacturing and assembly issues Improve and update current product lines using new tools, materials, and lessons learned Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure machines are built to specification Lead or facilitate technical design reviews to support knowledge sharing and peer development Apply critical thinking to resolve complex technical challenges independently Generate innovative ideas to improve equipment, processes, and engineering outcomes Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners Contribute to projects that impact communities in Fergus Falls, Willmar, Osakis, and Glenwood, and the greater Alexandria, MN metro Apply your skills in a dynamic environment that values ownership and innovation QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required 4+ years of machine design experience using Creo Ability to work independently with sound judgment and initiative Strong problem‑solving skills for complex technical challenges Experience collaborating across business functions and contributing to team success Strong verbal and written communication skills Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement ESTIMATED PAY RANGE Engineer I: $34.62–$40.38/hour Engineer II: $38.46–$44.23/hour Engineer III: $43.27–$49.04/hour Senior Engineer: $46.63–$53.85/hour Final compensation is based on experience, skills, and alignment with role expectations. Paid overtime may be available.
