FLEX CREW - Join the “Good Vibes & Pies” Crew Barista Bar Pizza & Kitchen Prep Food Truck Events Register Customer Service Food Running Bussing Dishes About the Role Our Flex Crew is at the heart of Captain’s day-to-day operations. This is a hands-on, cross-trained position for someone who enjoys variety, working with people, learning new skills, and jumping in wherever the crew needs them. Depending on your training, experience, age, and the needs of the shift, you may be crafting espresso drinks, working the register, prepping ingredients, firing wood-fired pizzas, serving behind the bar, helping guests, running food, keeping the shop clean and organized, working aboard our food truck, or bringing the energy to one of Downtown Brighton’s Main Street festivals and events. You don’t need to walk in knowing how to do everything, we’ll teach you! What matters most is a willingness to learn, a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and being someone your crew can count on. What You’ll Do As a Flex Crew member, responsibilities may include: Provide warm, genuine customer service and help create the welcoming atmosphere Captain’s is known for Take orders, operate the register, answer guest questions, and accurately handle transactions Learn to craft espresso, coffee, and other specialty beverages Prepare ingredients, assist with kitchen prep, and learn our wood-fired pizza station Run food, bus tables, wash dishes, restock, and help keep work and guest areas clean and organized Assist with bar service and alcoholic beverages when legally permitted and appropriately trained Work food truck events, catering events, community events, and Downtown Brighton festivals Help keep Captain’s clean, safe, and welcoming by completing daily cleaning and sanitation tasks throughout the kitchen, bar, dining areas, patios, restrooms, and other shared spaces. Follow food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and workplace procedures Communicate with your crew, stay aware of what needs to be done, and be willing to jump in where help is needed Help us create memorable experiences for our guests and bring Captain’s good vibes wherever we go What We’re Looking For We’re looking for people who are: Friendly, dependable, and comfortable working as part of a close-knit team Willing and excited to learn new skills Able to stay positive and productive in a fast-paced environment Comfortable moving between different responsibilities throughout a shift Strong communicators who aren’t afraid to ask questions or offer help Reliable with their availability and scheduled shifts Excited to be part of a locally owned small business and the Brighton community Available for some weekends, evenings, food truck events, and festivals depending on the position and season Previous restaurant or customer service experience is a plus, but not always required. We’re just as interested in finding great people who are ready to learn and grow with us. Flex Crew is our primary cross-trained position, but we know everyone has different strengths. If you find yourself thriving in a particular area (barista, pizza, kitchen, bar, events, or food truck) there may be opportunities to develop further in that role. We also welcome applicants interested in growing into Shift Lead, Management, or other leadership roles over time. Why Captain’s? Compensation Our current standard starting wage is $14.00/hour plus tips, but starting pay may vary over time and by applicant based on experience, qualifications, availability, responsibilities, needs of the role and the value each team member brings to Captain’s.
