Kennel Assistant

Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to animals in our facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal welfare and the ability to handle various breeds and sizes of pets. This position requires a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment for both animals and staff.DutiesProvide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces.Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.Assist in administering medications as directed by veterinarians or veterinary technicians.Ensure all animals are properly restrained during handling to ensure safety.Support the overall operations of the kennel by assisting with check-ins and check-outs of pets.Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and any observed changes in behavior or health.Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets’ well-being.ExperiencePrevious experience in animal care or veterinary settings is preferred but not required.Knowledge of animal husbandry practices, including feeding, grooming, and basic health monitoring.Familiarity with animal anatomy and restraint techniques is beneficial.Experience as a veterinary technician or in veterinary critical care is a plus.Strong skills in animal handling and the ability to work with various species and temperaments.If you are passionate about animal care and looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of pets, we encourage you to apply for the Kennel Assistant position.
