?We are hiring experienced ED Registered Nurses for night shift.Responsibilities
Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements and evaluates nursing care in managing a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse, whendesignatedby unit assignment and consideration of factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency,costand impact.Educatespatientand family in health promotion and disease management using available resources.Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to UHS Hospitals policy.Shares inresponsibility for productivity and effective resourcesutilizationincluding staffing, time management,suppliesand services.Complies withall nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies.Activelyparticipatesin and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council,participatingin improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices.Actively engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completing all mandatory education requirements.Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice.Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.Performs duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned.Education/Experience
Minimum Required:
A graduate of an accredited school of NursingPreferred:
Bachelor's of Science degree in NursingPrevious clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory settingLicense/Certification
Minimum Required:
Current New York State Registered Nurse License.Preferred:
CCRNRelevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned.Work Environment
Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients. Rooms are air conditioned and heated.Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting.Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by UHS Hospitals Infection Control policies.Age of Patients Served
