Billing & Collections ManagerDenver, CO | Hybrid ScheduleFull-TimeJC Porter is searching for a Billing & Collections Manager for a professional services organization looking to strengthen and scale its billing operations. This role will oversee the full billing lifecycle, lead a team of billing and collections professionals, and serve as the primary escalation point for complex billing, e-billing, client account, and collections-related matters.This is a strong opportunity for someone with legal or professional services billing experience who enjoys leading teams, improving workflows, and partnering closely with internal stakeholders to drive accuracy, timeliness, and operational consistency.About This RoleThe Billing & Collections Manager will lead a centralized billing function and help ensure billing processes are accurate, compliant, and efficient from pre-bill review through final invoice distribution. This role requires someone who can balance team leadership, process improvement, client service, and hands-on issue resolution.Key ResponsibilitiesManage billing, collections, e-billing, and client account support teamsOversee billing workflows, deadlines, handoffs, and quality controlEnsure invoices are accurate, timely, and aligned with client billing guidelinesServe as the escalation point for complex billing issues, questions, and workflow challengesMonitor WIP, AR, billing status, realization, and related reportingSupport e-billing submissions, appeals, deductions, short pays, and rejection resolutionOversee client, matter, timekeeper, rate, budget, and billing setup accuracyLead annual rate increase processes and related data auditsPartner with Finance, Revenue Management, Accounting, IT, and leadership on process improvementsDevelop procedures, best practices, and training materials to support consistencyBasic Qualifications5+ years of billing, accounts receivable, or receivables operations experience3+ years of legal billing experienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field (Preferred) Strong knowledge of professional services billing practicesStrong understanding of e-billing platforms, LEDES formats, and client billing guidelinesAdvanced Excel skills and experience preparing billing, WIP, AR, and ad hoc reportsExcellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExperience supporting complex billing structures in a legal or professional services environmentProven ability to improve workflows, standardize processes, and support system enhancementsWhy This Role Stands OutLeadership role with direct oversight of billing and collections operationsOpportunity to help strengthen processes during a billing function transformationFlexible hybrid scheduleHigh visibility across finance, leadership, attorneys, and client-facing teamsStrong opportunity to mentor, develop, and build a high-performing billing teamIf you’re a billing leader who understands legal or professional services billing and enjoys building efficient, accountable teams, this could be your role.
