CNC Lathe Setup & Programmer (Mazak / Mazatrol Expert)
Precise Products Corporation, an Employee Owned Precision Machining company has an open job opportunity in our CNC Turning Department.
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced CNC Lathe Setup & Programmer with deep expertise in Mazak machines and Mazatrol programming. This role is critical to our machining operations and requires someone who can independently program, set up, troubleshoot, and optimize complex turning jobs in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Program CNC lathes using Mazatrol (conversational programming required; EIA/ISO a plus)
Set up and run Mazak CNC lathes, including multi-axis and live tooling machines
Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions
Select tooling, cutting parameters, and fixturing to ensure optimal cycle times and part quality
Perform first-article inspections and make necessary program or setup adjustments
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues efficiently
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve processes
Mentor or assist less experienced machinists as needed
Required Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on CNC lathe setup and programming experience
Strong proficiency in Mazak Mazatrol programming (required)
Experience with tight tolerances and precision machined parts
Solid understanding of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and materials
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
