Lead Person - Packaging

Lead PersonBoar's Head Provisions Co., Inc. is looking for a Lead Person tasked with running a specific area of production in an efficient and safe manner. The Lead Person needs to understand the daily schedule and communicate the information to operators. They must have an understanding of product rotation first in first out concept. The Lead Person ensures orders are processed in accordance with the Boar's Head's customer service standards. They are also familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a warehouse, distribution center, or meat processing facility. The successful candidate will be able to think proactively, thrive under pressure, and assist the production supervisors in achieving departmental goals and production including the ability to train others and troubleshoot issues.Responsibilities:Responsible for performing tasks as described and assigned by the department supervisor/managerResponsible for operating and helping to maintain equipment within their assigned areaAssist with reporting problem situations and makes recommendations to Supervisor to enhance the efficiency of productionMust work as a team player to assist with on-the-job training, and development of other employeesAssists Supervisor in recognizing possible problems and coaches employees or makes recommendations to Supervisor for further actionsMust follow Company's GMP's, SOP's, Safety, Plant rules, other policies and codes of conductMust be able to follow written and oral instructionsVerify accuracy of order/invoices/manifests, complete cycle counts and inventory control procedures to ensure accurate record keeping and product controlStrive to satisfy the requirements of both internal and external customersQualifications:Employee is required to work in cold, damp environment.Position requires having worked in leadership capacity in a manufacturing/food production environmentMust have basic oral and written communication skillsAbility to stand, reach, stoop, kneel or crouchAbility to lift and move 50-75 pounds (with assistance, when required)Available to work a Monday - Friday schedule, with weekend work dictated by production needsFork-lift/tow motor experienceExperience with Oracle systems preferredLocation: Petersburg, VATime Type: Full timeDepartment: Packaging 3rd Shift
