We are launching our new middle academy in the Fall of 2026. Our network of schools connects students from diverse linguistic backgrounds and educates them together in a highly rigorous, engaging and nurturing environment. Using both English and Spanish to instruct students in all core content areas, students will develop high levels of bilingualism and biliteracy, as well as a deep value and understanding of other cultures. As citizens in a global world, students at Global Prep gain limitless access to other cultures through bilingualism and instruction, which emphasizes critical thinking using global perspectives and experiential learning.POSITION SUMMARYPerforms professional work providing Physical Education instruction that supports students' physical development, wellness, and teamwork through developmentally appropriate teaching strategies. This role also serves as Athletic Director, coordinating after-school sports and athletic programming while building a positive school-wide athletics culture. The position requires strong organization, student management, and program leadership skills.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPhysical Education InstructionPlan and deliver standards-aligned PE instructionPromote bilingual teamwork norms, using Spanish and English consistently during routines, games, and student leadership.Promote physical wellness, teamwork, and sportsmanshipEnsure student safety and proper use of equipmentDemonstrate competent knowledge of subject matterAttendance and punctuality are essential to the successful performance of this job.Instructional team member for each student, in coordination and compliance with school division head, for parent conferences, phone calls, or other appropriate directed interactionsTeach daily physical education classesMaintain gradesMaintain and organize equipmentDevelop physical education lessonsAthletic DirectorCoordinate athleticsManage schedules, rosters, and supervisionCommunicate athletic and after-school information bilingually for families.Keep the school community informed about the extracurricular athletic programs.Hires officials, team physicians, supervisors and police, for supervision of home contests.COLLABORATION & SCHOOL CULTUREModel professionalism and foster positive, inclusive student engagementSupport a strong school culture through collaboration with staff and familiesDevelop, update, and communicate school-facing resources (brochures, handbooks, policy guides)Ensure consistent compliance with safety expectations and school proceduresMaintain reliable attendance due to daily student interaction and program consistencyAdhere to all GPA and divisional policies, protocols, and operational requirementsOTHER FUNCTIONSAttend events, games, and staff meetings & professional development as requiredWORK ENVIRONMENTHighly active; includes standing, running, lifting equipment, and outdoor activities.REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIESStrong student managementProgram coordinationClear communication and leadershipQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLSBachelor's degree required; background in athletic leadership or sports program management strongly preferred.Valid Indiana teaching license (or ability to obtain one)Experience coaching organized sports at the middle school, high school, or club levelExperience organizing, scheduling, or managing athletic programs, leagues, or tournamentsKnowledge of IHSAA or applicable middle school athletic association rules and compliance requirementsExperience supervising assistant coaches or coordinating volunteersPaid health, vision, and dental insuranceFSA/HSALife InsuranceShort and long-term disability403B retirement plan with a 7.5 contribution if you contribute 3% of your gross incomePTO, 11 paid holidays & 14 weeks of Paid School breaks (1 Spring; 9 Summer; 1 Fall; 1 Thanksgiving; 2 Winter)Employee Assistance ProgramStipends for Additional Roles & ResponsibilitiesTuition reimbursement for education-related degreesUp to $150 health reimbursement per quarter
