JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Church Administrator
Department: Ministry Staff
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Status: 31 hours (with potential for growth to full time with additional responsibilities)
Compensation: $40,300.00 – $45,136.00 a yr.
Clovis EV FREE (CEFC) is a growing Christ-centered community dedicated to serving God and His people. The Church Administrator is responsible for managing church operations, including finances, facilities, human resources, and communication. Requires strong organizational, financial management skills, effective communication abilities, commitment to the church’s mission and values. CEFC is a church which envisions for all who form our local church to be under the Lordship of Jesus Christ; In all things, Christ supreme (Col. 1:18).
Position Summary:
Financial Administration
Financial administration includes budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting in church accounting software. Oversees donations, offerings and budget oversight. Maintains accurate records of church membership, contributions, and attendance using church software programs. Prepare and distribute reports on finances, membership statistics, and other relevant information to church leadership and appropriate committees.
Property Oversight
Coordinate property maintenance & safety with relevant ministry / team leaders. Scheduling of church events & keeping inventory of Church property and equipment.
Personnel Liaison
Work with personnel to develop / administer personnel policies and maintain Human Resource records. In consultation with lead pastor keeps up with federal and state labor laws.
Church Office Administration
Provides executive support to lead pastor. Schedule appointments & events. Screens phone calls to the church office. Maintains office files. Attends weekly staff meetings.
Communication
Be a communication hub for staff, ministry leaders, volunteers and congregation at large through various means (i.e text, email, phone calls, church center app). Weekly bulletin production and printing. Maintains church wide calendar of events.
Ministry Coordinator
Be a support for staff & ministry leaders as they plan and coordinate church events / activities. This may involve managing the church’s schedule, booking venues, sending invitations, etc.
Key Skills and Abilities
· Strong organizational and administrative skills. Able to multitask.
· Understanding of and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Planning Center (database software), social media).
· Ability to work in a serving role.
· Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
· Proficiency in financial management which includes budgeting, accounting principles, financial reporting which ensure fiscal responsibility.
· Communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with volunteers, staff, elders, and CEFC community. Convey information clearly, attentive to details and can keep confidentiality in relation to interpersonal conflicts within the CEFC community.
· Leadership and teamwork include staff, volunteers, and fostering a positive environment for collaboration.
Education: Training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience, bachelor’s degree and experience in church administration preferred.
Related Experience: Previous work-related skills, knowledge, or experience in bookkeeping / accounting.
Job Training: Training in church software, procedures and processes will be provided.
Working hours: Monday – Thursday 7 hours per day during CEFC business hours. 3 hours for Sunday worship support. Will be some additional hours due to scheduled / coordinated events as needed.
